THE OAK STORY

Situated in picturesque Olinda, the Wild Oak Café, Restaurant and Wine Bar has seen a lot in its lifetime. From weddings to new years parties, this small cozy venue has been at the heart of the Dandenong Ranges.
Right from the beginning this café, come restaurant and wine bar has developed a reputation for great food, service, produce and atmosphere. With the current ownership the restauranr has undergone major alterations, with a new kitchen, bar and foyer, which has added a sense of simple elegance. With its gourmet regional produce based al fresco style the Wild Oak has "raised the bar" in the Dandenong Ranges.

Proprietor and executive chef Ben Higgs says. "It is important to use only the best local produce,"
Ben has experience in some of Melbourne's finest restaurants, from elegant French cuisine at La Madrague in South Melbourne to the unequaled Eleanors at Château Yering. Bens experience has allowed him to develop a menu for all tastes.

Wild Oak also has its own line of produce, with gourmet chutney, jam and bread, as well as boutique Yarra Valley wine sales and provides take away meals delivered to local bed and breakfast accommodation.

Jazz at the Oak, held the last Friday of each month, with a live band and great food and wine. Boookings essential.
