Travelogue Feature Navigation

A fine gourmet selection next door.

We sadly say Au vior to Uzes, a vibrant revitalized medieval city that is a haven for tourists from across the world.
The city has a focused proactive tourism office that ensures visitors experience the best that the region has to offer.
A feature was the Saturday market that fills the town with stalls. We purchased much of our food for the week from the local producers and suppliers.
The amazing array of shops kept us enthralled for the week We wished we could have stayed another week, as we had already established a great rapport with a number of locals. The florist featured here operated in an access tunnel and a 5 meter x 5 meter courtyard.

It is the variety of cheeses that amazes.

The Pont du Gard is an truly a engineering wonder of its time.

The interior of Englise St Etinne built in 1767 on the site of an older church destroyed in the War of Religion. The Architecture is of the Baroque or Jesuit style.

The churches, cathedrals, medieval castles, the history, culture and of course the cuisine are the reasons we travel to far places.
Richness abounds in all of the above in France and in choosing the Provence and Dordogne Regions I am sure we have chosen the best localities to spend time in.

Tip for photgraphers:
Learn your camera's time exposure funtion and take a tripod. We are using a childs one that is so compact and light, . Using the time delay and tripod for the interior detail is essential for the dimly lit environments.
It has also been a bonus to take the tourist shots of both of us for the family album with the time delay function.

The exterior of Englise St Etinne. The curved facade was quite unusual.

This is a too far away shot but it is the
Pont Du Gard that is the feature, not us.
